Salsa & Bachata Instructor
Nationality: USA
Daniel was born in the U.S., but is of Colombian heritage. He has loved salsa and bachata music for almost all of his life, but waited until the last year of his time at the University of Florida to finally start taking classes. After the first class he was obsessed and practiced as many hours per day as he could. He was even more inspired to improve quickly and learn some super sweet moves after seeing Izabella, one of the advanced instructors, on the floor at a local dance social. The moves and the practice paid off as Daniel and Izabella are now happily married.
Today, Daniel is a consultant in the technology sector by day and continues to be an enthusiastic salsa and bachata student the rest of the time. He can be found practicing his footwork while working at his standing desk in the office or studying moves from his favorite dancers on his phone while waiting in line at the post office or the grocery store.
“One of my favorite things about dancing is how the community can simultaneously be so large and so intimate. No matter where in the world you travel, you can always find a friendly and welcoming dance scene. And even though you meet so many people and don’t get to talk for too long, whenever you see them again you feel like you are among friends” – Daniel
